Silver Weekly Briefing

Editorial policy

Silver Weekly Briefing aims to make material culture clear without making it sound simpler than it is. We identify the limits of what a piece can establish and welcome readers who help us get details right.

Accuracy and context

We check names, dates and other factual details against suitable sources before publication, and take care not to present interpretation as fact. Where accounts or meanings differ, we explain that difference rather than implying there is only one reading. We do not claim that a general observation applies to every place or community.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions are made separately from commercial arrangements. Paid, gifted or otherwise supported material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from editorial work. Partner placements are also identified, and no partnership guarantees editorial coverage or a favourable view.

Corrections

If a published detail appears wrong or unclear, readers can contact us through the Contact page. We review correction requests and update pieces when warranted, making the change clear when it materially affects the reader's understanding.

Images and illustrations

Images are chosen to support the subject and are not presented as proof of a claim. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where used, they are identified as illustrations and not as documentary photographs.
